Who we are

Acts in Kenya International Inspiration

Acts in Kenya International’s idea was inspired by what one of the founders, Emmanuel Mwiti, experienced growing up. He says, “My mother was a widow after the death of my father. I was 4 years old when my father died”.

How we survived it was by the grace of God. My mother used to burn charcoal to educate my sibling and I. She really went through stuff especially torturing from the family members and others. She went through discrimination and people taking advantage of her because she was a widow. Accessing school education was an uphill task but I thank God because in all this, His Grace was sufficient.

To Conclude

To cut the long story short, after seeing and witnessing all what mum went through as a widow and me as an orphan, I decided that when I grow up, I would like to come up with an organization that would empower both widows and orphans; by equipping them with necessary skills to be able to be self-reliant and take care of their families. Some of the widows we empower are HIV positive and others suffering from other diseases.
